So You Say You Have a Tattoo?
by Steve • April 24, 2013 • 0 Comments
So, you say you have a tattoo or two, eh?
If you want some serious work like this, it doesn’t just happen one tattoo at a time. This type of awesomeness must be planned, to do the body and the art justice, and we have the artists for that. We can plan and draw your masterpiece, then set up session appointments for the lining and shading work.
Just drop by the @IronAnchor shop in Paducah, or call 270-534-5294 to consult with an artist or set your first appointment!

Head Tattoos by Brian Russell
by Steve • April 24, 2013 • 0 Comments
Getting a head tattoo isn’t for everyone, it’s one of the more rare places to be tattooed. A head tattoo identifies someone that’s far beyond an aficionado. If you cut a person with a head tattoo, they bleed black ink.
So here’s not just one, but two of the best I’ve ever seen, by our own @Brian, one of the three great artists in residence here at Iron Anchor Tattoos.
Call 270-534-5294 or hit @Brian up here to schedule an appointment.

It’s all about the art. This is one of Jon’s “just for fun” drawings from his secret stash.

When you decide to get a tattoo–a piece of art installed into your skin for life–do you want a tattoo that you see everywhere, or one that’s completely unique to you?
Here at Iron Anchor Tattoos, all of our artists are capable of creating original art just for your tattoo. Every tattoo shop has books and racks of what we call “flash art,” the pictures of flowers, stars, skulls, anchors, ships, pin-up girls, and so on that are drawn and sold by experienced tattoo artists as samples. While some shops specialize in tracing a perfect copy of that generic flash piece onto you, we tend to use other people’s flash art only for ideas, just a starting point for a completely original creation.
Call us today at 270-534-5294 to discuss your ideas with an artist, or to schedule an appoint for the best ink in Kentucky!

Website Update

At this point, have have most of the functionality of this new site in place. Last night I added the chat, and this morning, completed the code to pull our image feed from Instagram. The following are the things I’m still working on:
1. Typefaces (fonts): I’m having trouble setting the font colors in some of the plugins and on some of the buttons. Specfically, in the chat plugin on every page (sidebar, right), for one example, we get white text on a white background. In other words, it’s invisible. Also, on a lot of the other forms, to post to forums or groups, for instance. That’s terrific if you can type perfectly by feel, but not so good for we mere mortals. I’ve grepped through all the css files from the WP root down to the bottom of the plugin/widget stacks, changed hundreds of occurrences of white fonts on white backgrounds, and no effect, the things remain the same. I’m kinda exhausted atm, but I as soon as I can, I’ll make another pass through the code and find the dang things, I know I’ve just overlooked something is all. This is my top priority, because it must be fixed before we can really ‘use’ the site as intended.
2. Upon log out, the system sometimes throws the mobile profile up, instead of the full size one for laptops, say. You’ll recognize what I mean if after logging out you get a text only screen with all the home page links in a drop down called “menu.” Everything is blue and white, and there’s no sign of any graphics. To be fair, so far I’ve only had it happen on this one computer I use to do the development, and only after I’ve logged into, then out of, the keyholder/admin account. But it’ll continue to alternate between the proper view and the mobile view even after I log in with a different, ordinary account. I wanted to record this anomaly here, just in case someone else experiences it, please add a comment to this post to let me know the circumstances: your device and browser types, what page you were on, or what you were doing when it happened, anything else that might help me recreate or understand the bug.
As far as bugs, I’m not eager to set up a full bug track system yet, that’s a lot of work in itself just to maintain such. But I do encourage anyone with bug reports, help requests, feature improvement suggestions, etc., to post them to the forum: Site Announcements and Help. Keeping with the idea that this is mostly “your” site, our beloved clients and friends, feel free to use that forum link to help each other out as we all learn together how to make best use of this thing we call the Iron Anchor Tattoos Community!
As far as directly reporting bugs and such to me, you can find me on here as @Steve or @IronAnchor, or on Twitter as @St3v3Piper.
